To achieve the highest transfer speeds, connect the enclosure to a compatible USB4 port and use a high-performance NVMe SSD. Actual speeds depend on the SSD, host device, connection interface and system configuration. The aluminium housing may become warm during normal operation as it dissipates heat from the SSD.
